Recipe of the Month: February 2011
Baked Pasta Italiano
Serves 6
- 1 Package Valdigrano® penne pasta.
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 Tablespoon butter
- 2 Boneless and skinless chicken breast, diced medium
- 3 Garlic cloves, minced fine
- 1 Italian sausage, sliced medium
- 1 Jar pasta sauce, 32 oz.
- 1/4 Cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 Tablespoon paprika
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder
- 1 Cup parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 Cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions:
- Prepare the pasta according to package directions. Place in colander and rinse with cold water.
- Heat a large pot over medium high heat for one minute. Add the oil and butter and swirl to coat well. Add the diced chicken and sauté until a light golden brown. Add the garlic and sausage and sauté’ for one minute.
- Remove the pot from the heat and add the pasta sauce, ricotta cheese, cayenne, paprika and chili powder. Stir to incorporate.
- Add the drained pasta to the pot and mix well. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and top with the two cheeses. Bake at 375 degrees until cheese melted and browned (about 15 minutes).
