Shepherd’s Pie


1 Pound Southern Foods at Home Ground Beef

1 Southern Foods at Home Onion Pack

1 32oz Southern Foods at Home Red Bliss Mashed Potatoes Pack

2 Southern Foods at Home Mix Veggies Packs

1 TBSP Olive Oil

4 TBSP  Salt

4 tsp Pepper

1/2 tsp Chilli Flakes

1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic

1 TBSP Finely Chopped Parsley

1 TBSP Tomato Paste

2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce

2 Cups Beef Stock

1/4 Cup Water


1.) Thaw ground beef and veggies in warm water for 5 minutes

2.) Preheat oven to 400°F and heat Red Bliss Mashed Potato’s per instructions on the label.

3.) Cook ground beef on medium heat half way through cooking add 1 cup diced onion and 1&1/2 tsp minced garlic, stir constantly.

4.) Add 2 TBSP salt and pepper, 1/2 cup flour, 2 TBSP worcestershire sauce and 1 TBSP tomato paste, stir thoroughly.

5.) Slowly add 2 cups of beef stock and bring mix to a boil.

6.) Pour ground beef into a cast iron pan, place to the side.

7.) In a new pan add 1 TBSP olive oil, 1/2 tsp chilli flakes and 1 TBSp finely chopped parsley, saute in pan for 2-3 minutes.

8.) Add mixed veggies sprinkle 2 TBSP salt and pepper.

9.) Add 1/2 cup of water to veggies and cover for the veggies to steam for 5 minutes; stir veggies 2 minutes into steaming.

10.) Pour steamed veggies on top of the cooked ground beef prior to spreading the mashed potatoes on top evenly.

11.) Bake for 15-20 minutes.

*Add 1/2 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, after 10 minutes for added flavor; leave pie in oven for 10 more minutes for perfect crisp.
